To augment the Police Investigation Process, 9 satellite stations of PFSA Crime Scene Unit have been established at divisional headquarters of the Punjab province.
All stations are fully equipped with modern forensic equipment and highly trained staff.
All stations remain functional 24/7 for crime scene processing and collection of evidences from the crime scene (death scene, sodomy, rape, acid throwing, robbery, dacoity, theft, fire / arson, explosion etc.) in collaboration with the local police.
Apart from crime scene processing, these stations also impart training to regional Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
Performance of the satellite stations is constantly being monitored at PFSA HQ and being reviewed in quarterly meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order.
Sodomy and murder of a child in Township area of Lahore
Dead body of a child was found hanging in a masjid.
4 suspects including imam masjid were apprehended by the Police and they confessed their involvement, as well.
Polygraph and DNA tests at PFSA Labs ruled out their involvement.
Police brought more suspects for DNA sampling.
15 additional suspects were brought to PFSA labs. DNA samples and palm prints of the suspects were taken. Sampls of one of the suspects matched with the sample collected from crime scene by CSI team.
Baldia Town, Karachi, Factory Area Fire Case
Govt. of Sindh requested the services of CSI team to find out the cause of fire.
CSI teams visited the building and were able to locate the zero points and collected debris for laboratory analysis.
Samples were submitted to the Trace Chemistry Lab of the PFSA. The TC experts identified the traces of accelerant “hydro-carbons” i.e. indication of arson, not the fire. Note:Arson is deliberate, malicious act of setting fire.
Qandeel Bloach Murder Case
The dead body was found lying on a charpai in victim's bedroom.
Bruises were observed on victim's face and throat.
CSI team thoroughly searched the crime scene and collected various evidences.
Upon analysis of samples collected by CSI team, it was revealed that after sedation with adulterated milk, cloth sheet (safa) was used for smothering the victim.
DNA on safa matched with the suspect.
Polygraph test of suspect also established the guilt.
Oil Tanker Incident
Oil tanker at Ahmed Pur East was over turned and caught fire.
Heavy flames engulfed 132 people and large number got severe burns.
Dead bodies were severely burnt and their identification was a major challenge.
The only method of identification through DNA testing.
DNA samples of 132 un-identified dead bodies and reference samples of 164 claimants were taken by the CSI team.
After DNA analysis, dead bodies were identified.
Kasur : Rape and murder of a minor girl (Zainab Case)
Dead body of a minor girl found on heap of waste.
CSI team collected evidences.
Reference samples of 1187 suspects were taken.
DNA sample collected by CSI team matched with the suspect M. Imran s/o M. Arshad.
Polygraph test also proved the suspect, M. Imran as guilty.
Later, the suspect was found habitual rapist as his DNA matched with a number of other rape cases committed with minors.
